Regards. hi i use alcohol for cleaning and i use a solder station with normal thin soldering material 1mm thick and set my station just on the melting point of the material but whats important is the time you use to heat up the pad that burns the pad yes or no but i have repaired boards with a normal 20w soldering machine with a fine thin tip 1 clean very good the board and the top of your soldering machine 2 put your soldering material on the pads first 3 let cool down 4 prepare the transistor with wires 5 mount the transistor 6 solder the wires one by one with time to cool down a bit like this you won't have a problem greetings CrimsonQuill
